ARTIST NOTES: Rough Blues is an abstract acrylic painting in my favourite colour - blue. Here I plaid with a very prominent texture to imitate the surface of the open sea. The painting plays with light and is very tactile. This is stretched canvas on a deep frame and does not call for framing.

 Hello there!

I am a Melbourne based multidisciplinary visual artist.

Living with and creating art all my life, I chose a 'safer' path when starting university and went to study German Language and Literature at the University of Sarajevo. Like everythin we experience in life, my education was useful for my artistic development. Reading a lot and studying German art and architecture has definitely had influence on me as an artist.

Since moving to Australia, I joined the business world and developed and interest in building and construction and project management. I gained Diploma in Business Administration in that period and had a good and fullfilling job.

Unfortunately, it was not to last. After going through PTSD, I was left wirh clinical depression and was not able to work anymore.

I went into voluntary isolation and back to my first love -art. Talk about silver lining... Now I cal my world the UN-DO Art Studio.

Since then I got my Diploma in Photography and read, studied and practiced every day.

I became a member of TAFTA, NAVA and MAV (Multicultural Arts Victoria).

Most recently, I started connecting with the Art Accsess Victoria, an organisation working with and for disabled artists.

I took part at at least a couple of dozens of group exhibitions and had a couple os solo ones here in Melbourne. When it comes to other activities - I would like to mention a textile art workshop at the National Wool Museum in Geelong, judjing a children's Christmas card design competition for the State MP in my local area and being chosen to spend a month in Portugal as an artist in residence. (I had to postpone that one and will travel in May 2023.)

It has been said that one can not be a master of many things. Still, I chose to express myself in a number of different visual art disciplines, like painting, photography, digital art, fiber and textile art and installations. That suits my personality and gives me space to say more.

Naturally, my mental struggle is traceable in my work, but my main mission is to bring joy into people's lives and challenge them to be bold in making their choices.

While I sometimes go for calm, ellegant, almost minimal style, especially in photography, most of my art is bright and colourful with a strong presence in space.

I am a thinker and love to be of help to people, so I decided to start blogging at the Gallery 247 platform.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions related to choosing art suitable for your space.

I am also happy to consider a different size of a print you might need or help with organising payment conditions that suit you.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope we will get to know each other much better with time.

With love, Dona
