Artist Statement

My enduring fascination for the animal kingdom, and animals’ places in our lives, drives my creativity as I explore their natures through my pencil and paintbrush. My goal is to help people truly see the animals around them, both domesticated and wild, as unique characters with complex personalities and rich emotional lives of their own. Using my keen eye for details I can capture a particular look in the eye, the set of a lip, the tilt of an ear; bringing each animal's personality to the forefront of my work is what excites me about being an artist.
